Customs and Revenue Authorities throughout the world are increasing the levels of control and monitoring of international trade and individual shipments. This results in more frequent and more detailed Revenue Audits. Foremost Freights’ customs clearance clients can be confident that these Audits will cause the minimum disruption to their internal processes and shipping departments because Foremost Freight ensure that goods are classified accurately in the first instance. For additional information on the classification of all natural and manufactured items click here. The accurate classification ensures that the correct rates of duty, if applicable, and VAT are paid at the time of importation. Foremost Freight store all documents and records confidentially and securely. Personnel are available to deal with the physical customs examination of the documents or goods at the time of importation or subsequent inspections which may take place during Audits. Importers are able to avoid the additional costs of over-payments of duties and taxes as well as the risk of penalties, fines and levies, which can arise from under-payment. Foremost Freight is located conveniently to Dublin Port and Airport although customs clearance, or Automated Entry Processing (AEP), is managed electronically via EDI, so import and export clearance can be obtained for parcels, pallets or containers which are entering or departing from any of Irelands’ ports or airports. Clearance can also be arranged via EDI for CAP Import and CAP Export declarations.
